A new type of LDC
« on: June 07, 2018, 12:54:35 PM »
There have been lots of LDC on the market lately but this one has some unique features. First it has a unique air baffling system that really breaks up the signal second is the thick wall vinyl sleeve that absorbs the twang and high pitch sound and third it’s clear so if you double load or think it has lead in it you can see it plus cleaning is apparent just by a glance if it’s needed

I like the fact that it doesn't really look like an LDC.  "Oh, that thing?  Just bling!"

It's interesting for sure Travis. Wonder how it would hold up to the .58 DAQ? (evil laugh).

Reminds me of Gemtech's monocores for .22lr and .300BLK, and I think I've seen something similar sold on eBay as a 'muzzle brake' for around $100.

Monocores don't have a fantastic reputation for suppression efficiency for subsonic applications - K baffles tend to out-perform them significantly in properly set up metered tests. Still, it's doing something to reduce the report, so that's great. If living in the USA I'd no doubt be trying stuff like this, but sadly we Canadians have to be loud shooters.

Oh, by the way, for some really cool slo-mo footage of clear tube covered monocore suppressors, check out this video provided by the SmarterEveryDay channel:

It is very similar to internals used in a few LDC's on the market, it is just lacking the outside tube. You will find it is not as quiet as it would be if it was encased and not left open. Neil.
I missed the clear tube, so it is basically the same as some other designs on the market but with a clear tube so you can see the internals.
