The 34 is a nice gun. Is he old/big enough to cock it himself ?

OH YEA he is 29 and been shooting since about 7 but we don't know who makes what anymore and after a recent FUBAR with a supposed beeman , were both a bit leery of the springer line. He is at college so he is on a budget as I can't afford his tuition, so he has to pay. But he likes to shoot and wants to do it close to were he lives. PB make him travel away's. I have been using PCP and have a few new break barrels that I am not thrilled with. My old ones are a OK but the new batch out there, not so sure of.
thanks  for any help

IMO pick him up a hw50s in .177 from https://www.krale-schietsport.nl/en/
Nobody stateside has better pricing an hw95 might be a good route too. Can buy them for the price you can pick up a d34 here.

rws is still made by diana in germany, and they are still a good gun. and in .22 caliber they make a nice small game gun as well as target/plinker

Crosman NP2 is pretty decent shooter once you work thru a few bugs
Hatsan(any of the Snipers/Vortex 125,135) run great out of the box
Plenty of Diana fans, they are good builds
Hate to say it but you kinda get what you pay for these days
Look up around 250-$280 and there are more choices
The Hatsan refurbs from the Pro Shop are wonderful deals
