New to me Used 1377
« on: February 18, 2019, 06:18:54 AM »
Picked up a used a 1377 the other day, now the fun begins.  Only mods done were a steel breech and the shoulder stock by previous owner.  This is a blast to shoot!  I'm a tinkerer at heart and have been looking at all the mods others have done, all I can say is Wow!  So many options.  I can already see that this won't be my only 13xx  :).  I ordered the FT Piston and Valve, solid roll pin replacement, breech riser and 14.5" 22 cal Crossman barrel.  I'm planning on carbon fiber shrouding the barrel, making a carbon fiber butt stock and custom grips / pump handle.  I'll post some pictures of the before and after once I get it done.  It may take a while, I'm self employed and have been really busy this past year.  Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've done essentially that—twice! If I do it again, I'm going to do a 2240, and convert it to HPA (≈2,000 psi).

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

Yeah, there seems to be no limit, other than money, to what you can do with them.  Of course that little voice in my head keeps telling me I should have just bought a PRod.  I think what appeals to me the most is I can just grab a can of pellets and take off.  No hand pump, scuba tank or compressor to deal with.

I have a Benjamin 397, and for certain things, it is great. You can, after all, set the power where you want it to be. When I shoot inside of the aluminum-roofed hay barn, it fits the bill perfectly.

Aw now, don't get me started looking at different models.  I'm easily persuaded  ;D .
