My new to me 392
« on: October 08, 2016, 06:14:27 PM »
We had a used 392 donated for a shoot and I won it. Very nice rifle. It pumps and fires just fine but. I think this is not right.
First the whole rifle.

Now a close up.

Ahhhhhhh....BARREL SEPERATION :o :o :o

Common issue with both Benji and Sheridan rifles. There are several DIY options you can find throughout the forums and you'll see the common theme of Mac1 being the place to contact for professional repair.  In the meantime removing the rear sight and relieving some clamping pressure and reinstalling sight using a dab of glue to hold will help prevent that separation form getting worse.

Good luck getting her fixed up!

Shot it today and even though I can't see these cheap sites I was shooting 3" groups at 25 yds with it.

Got the barrel brazed back together. I drilled and tapped the breech for open sights. I had a set from a TC Contender barrel laying around and used them. Sighted it in at 25yds using CPHP's. Wind was 15mph as a front just blew in a hour or so ago.
