My new Racine 342
« on: March 10, 2016, 07:03:50 PM »
Just arrived today. IMO, it is in excellent condition. Wiped it down with Ballistol, moly lubed the bolt & sear, gave her a good dose of Secret Sauce. Tested it out with 6 pumps using 28gr Eun Jins @ 25yds freehand. Accuracy is good. I plan on doing more accuracy & chrony testing this weekend. I'm very pleased with this rifle.

Re: My new Racine 342 chrony numbers

I chronied the 342 today using four different pellets. 18gr JSB, 19gr H&N Hunter Extreme, 21gr Baracuda Match (5.53) & lastly, 28gr Eun Jin. Chrony set up 9ft from muzzle, each pellet five times from 3-10 pumps, except for the Eun Jins (5-10 pumps). The numbers seem about right.

Averaged, here's what I got:

3 pumps
18g 426fps  19g 427fps  21g 399fps
4 pumps
      488             476             451
5 pumps
      525             519             495       28g 441
6 pumps
      560             556             530             475
7 pumps
      593             591             559             500
8 pumps
      621             620             588             524
9 pumps
      644             639             612             546
10 pumps
      674             662             638             573
