Gamo Compact - back from the dead
« on: February 20, 2016, 09:06:04 PM »
This was the first air pistol I ever owned. IDK why I spent so much on the first one, I guess I liked the reviews on the trigger and the pistol grips it had.
It has since pulled a Houdini and disappeared. It's either buried in storage or got lost during a move. It's been discontinued for a few years, but now gamo is making them again. http://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Gamo_Compact/61
Funny review here:
/>When I bought my Beeman P17 I noticed the internals look VERY similar. Both are single pump pneumatic.
Honestly, unless you are into more serious target shooting I'd recommend the P17. There is a huge price difference, on pyramyd air the gamo compact goes for $249.99, while the P17 goes for $34.99. I like the P17's sights better, as they are fiber optic.
I don't think it's a bad gun, but I don't know if it's worth the price of admission considering how similar it is in operation to the P17.
