REX 357
« on: November 24, 2016, 09:04:04 PM »
Have about 50 rounds through a new rex 357. First impressions ill start with the good. It seems to be a fairly well made ,compact and light rifle with some snot behind the shot! The cons , the trigger is a bear it uses a seemingly microscopic allen key to adjust it . Don't have one on hand. I was getting  around 2 inch groups at 3o yards with jsbs. MY guess is that is  mostly due to the crazy trigger. Also do not overtighten the buttock or it will crack. I found out the hard way. I don't really care for that design of removing the buttstock with an allen key to fill the rifle. From a few feet away I shot at a 2 by 4 and it went through. I think this rifle has a lot of potential. specially if you are looking for a back pack friendly hunting rig.  its also damn loud but i have a LDC from wolf airguns that really tamed the bark. My reason for this post is to see if anyone out there has seen any tuning info on this gun. I have searched around and haven't found much. I don't have much time to shoot as I would like and go through all the trial and error stuff that I'm sure most of us know all to well lol. I was like a crackhead taking apart and tuning my other gun . It was fun but also at times frustrating. ANy info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I know this is off the subject, but I'm just not enamored with the Evanix, or the Air Force ones which look like it. They just look funky to me, and I wouldn't buy one even if it were a tack-holer. This said, if you really want to buy an ugly airgun, look at the Benjamin Bulldog! They're so unappealing, I want to hold up a cross in front of my face!

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

I feel you. The looks arent for every one. I can say though that the rex or airforce guns are a lot cooler when you see them in person and get them in your hands. Pictures dont do them justice. I bought mine  for certain characteristics that the gun has. Its not much longer than my marauder bullpup and can be broken down in a few seconds by twisting off the air cylinder. Its also very light. I think with a trigger adjustment the groups may shrink considerabley.for the type of terrain we have here if dailed in it would make a great hunting rig. That being said a friend said i should tape a broom head to the barrel and if it doesnt shoot good at least i can use it to sweep the floor.lol. You are not the only one that doesnt like the looks of it lol. As for myself i like the gun so far.  Its very utilitarian and fills a specific niche.
