Title: Ready for it ?
Post by: Nicesurprice on November 24, 2018, 01:10:35 AM
Started to prepare for tomorrow.
We have a 100m match.
Instead f using the Match grade Sinner.
We use US build hunting rifles.

For tomorrow a XP .45 - .58  and a .73 will been trown into the battle.
Goal is to shoot the best results with this hunting class big bores.

The top shoots 300+ points
We set the goal at 275.

Some teasers.

Yes it is.
Just a bunch off airheads together.
We sponsor the top class with hour products so we dont have to show for the best.

I just go for technics.
We will hat T6 allu for a bipod.
When ready we start a recoilsystem project.
We just pave the road another will walk on.

Oh man, that makes me chomp at the bit! .73 Booooom!
My flinch may increase two in anticipation of big booms!

Mighty interesting you guys are shooting hollow points at targets. That makes me think aerodynamics mean less for big bore bullets traveling at rather pokey speeds compared to centerfire.

Shooting hollowpoints have 2 benifeds.
1 less weight
2 better BC.
We tested with a labradar and those HP just lose less speed.

The bullet will travel in his own cavitation ( like a torpedo).
We have a sucsessfull .30 HP as we speake.
We just test a lot of disigns and sizings.
And the best disign wins HP or not.

As we spoke on mail.
I was suprised you guys shoot those big sizings.
Just try an.455 sized slug in a .458 Texan.

Better first shoot the .457 followed by a ,455.
And feel and listening  to your rifle.
Smaller just sounds better.
Less stress and better grouping.
When hot outside we shoot .453.
Als long youre slug follows the rifling its ok.

Better flight characteristics can happen with firearm bullets traveling faster than the speed of sound. It is odd, but as you pointed out, Labradar doesn't lie!

So.
That was disappointing.
Came on track well prepared.
One off the ace gunners had a leaking bottle so no air

As a gentleman i offerd him mine.
I should lone another rifle with used less air.
10 shots into the match rifle broken. ????

In other words drove 300 miles for a no score.

At least we had a happy shooter next to me.
