Great Day of Shooting with Kevin
« on: March 15, 2019, 07:08:54 PM »
It started out a bit chilly this morning but warmed up and it was a glorious sunny day at Kevin’s.

I brought the Texan .257 and the Scandalous | Critus .257. They were completely different critters. The Texan with the Neil Clague Shroud was whisper quiet compared to the unmufflled Scandalous | Critus .257.

I suffered accuracy issues for a good part of the day with the Texan. Not sure what was going on, but cleaning the barrel helped, and I suspect that going from cool morning in the shade to full warm sun may have made the Texan unhappy. After the sun warmed everything up the Texan went back to behaving itself. Got a chance to try out Kevin’s new steel targets and that was a hoot.

We fiddled with the Scandalous | Critus .257 early, but put it away till just before packing it in. Took a few shots before I got on paper at 50 yards and then was smacking steel at 100 yards. Could not hit at 200yards though. Another day since it is so bloody loud.

Fun day!

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.
