Anyone tried the new Gamo TC45?
« on: September 06, 2018, 07:41:45 AM »
While I'm not a particular fan of Gamo, I've been looking at big-bores the last few years, and have gotten to shoot several different kinds. Many states are allowing deer hunting with airguns now, but usually only during a powder-burner season of some sort. That being said, I've pretty much taken the stance that if it's going to be so loud as to require ear protection, I'll just use the powderburner. I've seen the shrouded Texan, and while I've shot numerous forms of the AirForce airguns, I'm just not a fan of the operating system overall. They're all decent shooters, lightweight etc....there's just something about them that grates on me....

A friend has a Sam Yang that's been turned up....and it's a hammer....but it's also a LOUD hammer....I built a moderator for him, but it was hugely unwieldy....he uses it for urban deer population control, but it just isn't carry-friendly.

I've seen the YouTube videos of the Gamo, and it looks like something I could get my head around. I realize it's not going to be backyard friendly....but....probably pretty ground-blind friendly and capable out to 100yds with lighter bullets.

Just wondering if anyone here has tried one of them yet?

butchb,

I retired 4 years ago....they made me take my toys and go home at 31 years....I'd still be in uniform if they'd let me....ironically enough, I've got some friends in Marion....and my family is originally from just North of there in Pike County....Most of my immediate family live in Pike County, MO now....

Semper Fi,
