329 Yds-Texan-Working Booster-VIDEO

Set up my Bullet Trap and target in front. Trap is 12X12 inches. Use half inch steel rods driven in ground to keep it in place.Another 2 rods for target with  3" red dot.  Mirage terrible as a hot day and finally could  NOT see where I was hitting so quit. Used booster in field first time and 3rd tank I turned camera on and get good view of it working for 45 seconds bringing an 88 cu ft tank from 3500 psi or less to 4800 psi again....Did this 4 times......

Another nice video along with great shooting. Thanks for all the time and effort that you put into it. I'm sure there was quite a bit of work behind that nine minute vid. Always enjoy your long range shooting clips......Now I've got to ask, is that booster something you bought or did you build it?  It looks like a pretty involved set up. I'm assuming once you get below your usable pressure in a bottle your taking the remaining air and compressing into another bottle??🤔

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks.........The shooting and testing and getting all to work well is work but the CHALLENGE of making it all work well is what I enjoy..........When it becomes routine, I am bored and basically DONE.

BOOSTER-It is involved. I did buy it from a DIVE SHOP. Owner got it all reconditioned with NEW O rings and had inside on a shelf for 10 yrs as didn't know how to HOOK IT UP--DUH. Think I would of had someone do it??   It is a HASKEL INDUSTRIAL BOOSTER. Best there is. I did ALL THE EXTERNAL PLUMBING and fixtures to work with bottles. I learned what I needed to know and HOW and took off his hands. New one is $8,000. Sold it to me for $1,500 and is basically NEW..

It works by AIR DRIVE PRESSURE to a MAX of 150 psi., and regulator is what you see me twist to START BOOSTER, and stop.  Texan I shoot MOSTLY at 3500 psi  regulated externally and when 88 cu ft tank equalizes, I switch to 2nd tank. Also it takes psi in bottle to FEED into the low side of HIGH PRESSURE CYLINDER to be boosted to end tank. First test I had both tanks about 3000-3500 psi. It will top boosted tank to 4800 psi quickly as video shows but will EMPTY other tank..............So could get a 3rd tank of air to shoot BUT!!  When I go out of town to desert range is 1:15 min one way drive. With modified valve and 3500 psi regulated and 384 gr or larger 20 shots is all get from a 4800 psi fill from 88 cu ft tank..........So no electricity at range and from a shop compressor to drive it takes MIN of 15 cu ft min......SO i bought 2 SCUBA TANKS from Dive shop, used, hydroed at good price. 120 cu ft each and steel and 3500 psi rated but dive shops fill  all day to 3800 psi, so good supply of air. I also split air into one tank to drive unit and other tank to supply air to be boosted.

This video i shot it last wed and was first test in field. Had 2 CF tank I shoot from. Shot them down. When I do the 315 gr i use 3300 psi. Then I boosted CF tanks each once. Shot them down again and boosted both again. But mirage so bad could hear hits on steel trap but even spotting scope so blurry  with heat, I quit and went home. My drive tank was empty and other scuba had 1400 psi left. Theoretically could have used that air and 3000 + in a CF tank to top of one more tank to shoot. Which would have been 7 tanks!!

When i get the NEW BUILT VALVE back from Doug with tweaks and open PSI up for  max it will really use ai,r and at 4500 psi for tests will need booster to keep testing, as 2-3 shots  from 88 cu ft and 414 gr bullet and will be at equilibrium  with regulator.  HASKEL BOOSTERS http://www.haskel.com/products/air-amplifiers/#models_specifications

Takes time money and dedication to wring this to the max and I will achieve that........Thanks for asking.
