Yong Heng fills Airhog and DAQ
« on: July 27, 2018, 07:53:31 PM »
My Yong Heng Compressor I got on EBay for $200 has filled my AirVenturi small tank from about 3500 to 4500 psi in about 5 minutes, the big Airhog from 4200 to 4600 (indicated-where Vallejo Fire Extinguisher fills to, due to gauge differences ), and my DAQ .458 to 3600 psi in a minute. Previous owner filled DAQ to 3600 and Dennis okayed it.

I think I like this little thing. The tanks filled up at the fire extinguisher place would have run $22.

As long as it does the job.

On average, it takes me about 10 days to go through a 350 round tin. It is not uncommon to refill my small tank several days in a row. I'm not sure an inexpensive compressor would stand up to my usage ratio. Maybe if my Omega bites the dust, I'll just order a few Yong Heng units!

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

It's all about what works. The targets and the vermin don't seem to care about the fill source for air guns. Similar analogy is that fish don't care about what brand of rod you're using, the name on the side of the boat, etc.  In your case you don't a shoot a ton of big bore very often and your home shooting is sporadic with small bore.

I think the key here is that you did a lot of research and you're also accepting of doing some mods to the compressor. It won't take too many fills to pay for itself directly, especially if you factor in the hassles you were going through to get air.

Truck's all loaded with steel, t posts, targets, shooting chair, chrony, and accessories. See you Sunday morning!
