This high pressure air stuff makes me nervous
« on: October 13, 2018, 11:12:11 AM »
This high pressure air stuff makes me nervous. As I installed the Huma Regulator this morning I found the foster fitting on my tank very difficult to remove. This is what found. It is the second fitting I’ve had on this tank and both were from AirHog.

I’ve replaced this one with a stainless steel I bought from a supplier in England.  I will watch this one carefully and remove promptly if it shows scarring.

I have a rational or perhaps irrational fear of a hose whipping around and whacking me.

All of the stuff I've seen lately appears to be junque! I don't know where Jim Gaska gets his, but the one on my Cobra has been well used (about 15,000 round give or take), and it is not worn.

I think in most cases, the only way to get a good fit (read that as low wear), is to replace both the male and the female ends.

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

I get all of mine from Joe B at Air Tanks For Sale and have never had a problem.
