« on: February 05, 2019, 04:43:38 PM »

12volt (convertor available for 110v) air cooled airgun compressor for Under $500. Question is will it outlast the cheap Yong Heng compressors and the clones?

Hmmmmm,

I predict...

I'm of the mind, that several "things" are about to happen in the airgun world. First, there is an on-going ramp-up in sales of all things airgun. This has manifested itself in a slew of new airguns, both PCP and nitro piston. And this causes...

Prices are dropping to bare minimums. While this is looked upon as a good thing to increase the number of air gunners, it also cheapens the quality.

There are now at least six companies offering nominal 12 volt, PCP compressors. This fact will all but eliminate the need to carry a bottle around, unless you're backpacking.

Sooner or later, scope manufacturers will have to step up to the plate, and provide the hobby with some decent specs. I think HAM is dead on, and that's no pun! (https://hardairmagazine.com/reviews/lets-have-some-airgun-friendly-scope-specifications/)

Lastly, which airgun manufacturer, do you think will be bought out? Unless I've missed the mark, at least three were this past year, including Crosman/Benjamin. I'm convinced this consolidation will continue. Whether this is good or bad, remains to be seen.

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.
