Holy Big Bore Air Consumption
« on: April 16, 2017, 03:38:07 PM »
Been shooting the Sumatra more, and have blasted the DAQ .58 pistol and rifle a bit over the weekend and now the time has come to refill the 88cf tank. Those DAQs eat up the air. Looks like I get three shots from the rifle, with a fourth completely empties the rifle. Ouch.

So I see either another tank or a compressor in my future.

How am I gonna slide that purchase by the lady of the house.

I know, look Squirrel!

My only advice is, bite the bullet, and buy a decent all in one compressor. Yes, Shoeboxes and Altaros boosters are nice to have, until you REALLY start using the air. I have a small tank I use when I'm out for just a couple of hours, but I bring out the 88 cf one when I'm out for the day. Last full day trip took the big tank down from 4,500 psi, to 3,400 psi. That's about 40ish refills for the Marauder, but only about 30 refills for the 9mm (≈50 rounds, tops!).

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.
