Benji Hand Pump
« on: July 20, 2017, 07:33:36 PM »
I have a Benjamin hand pump that is giving me trouble. Replaced all the high wear orings and it's still a no go. I used to have a picture, a screenshot actually, of a schematic of the pump with a list of all the orings with their sizes, both dimensional and the standard number size. Phone died along with the pic. Searched around and all I could find were those old photobucket pics that have been taken down >:(. Does anyone have that on file? And if so, could you post it up? Be a good resource to have and much appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

Schematic used to be on Crosman site.  Not sure now.

YES! That's even better than what I had seen before. Thank you

As far as the issue. I'm not sure. It will not pump efficiently and builds up heat very quickly. I've replaced all the orings in it , except for the ones that are in the brass piece where the retainer clip holds in the little plastic ball. Trying to figure out a way to break it loose without scoring the tube up.

Thanks again Mr. Monkey,
Chris

How fast are you pumping?  Should be fairly deliberate with pumping.  Is it giving you any resistance?

How fast are you pumping?

Not very fast at all.  I've had the pump for a couple of years and I've had to replace some of orings, but now it seems my normal replacement of the higher wear orings isn't working.

Is it giving you any resistance?

Yessir. I replaced oring 34 which goes in the brass fitting labeled 13. (These numbers are in reference to the schematic you posted). Well, the oring is a #118, that is the same size as my Mrods so I had some on hand. Seems real tight to me. The pumping is hit and miss. One pump will do good and have resistance and the next one might not be any resistance. The #007 oring at the bottom of the piston rod is in good shape.

Thanks for the help,
Chris

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

Dear Mr. Monkey,
I wanted to let you know that I got my Benjamin pump going. The problem was P#36, which is oring size #106. But just to be sure I replaced every oring in it :o. Just wanted to say thanks again for posting that link. Couldn't have done it without you doing that.

Maybe I can do that one day...... ::)
