Did I mess something here? I thought it was an old Steve Allen-ism. As in: Neat-o-slick! Meaning the bestest, meanest, etcerest!

Alan you gotta remember what kind of air you are breathing out there.  BTW do your shots glow or sparkle in the dark ;D

One thing you will find about Socal is that he is very well read and articulates himself very well after reasoning thoroughly before he speaks..

Well, this is the first time I've been back since my previous post, a big sorry to Altaros for the misunderstanding. I used a figure of speech and translation software doesn't do well on that stuff. LOL

I think the Altaros booster is a great design, just like the Clark pump, and it always amazes me how you can use a low pressure/high volume input to get a high pressure (in this case, a very high pressure) output. I'm an ex-Navy sub service electronic technician who also taught advanced electronics troubleshooting logic to electronic warfare surveillance techs (all very sharp guys), so I don't use the word "genius" very often. However, after I saw the Altaros booster, then I saw his Altaros regulator for the Marauder, THEN I saw his extremely nice chrony that he built mounted on his barrel, I excitedly told peashooter, "This guy is a genius! Look how slim his regulator is! And the gauge still reads chamber pressure! Not to mention the booster and the chrony!!"

I've already ordered the regulator, can't wait to see what my Synrod will do once it's regulated!
Sorry for taking so long to swing back by here, I've been all over a lot of forums reading about tuning the Marauder, there's a LOT of info out there!  LOL

Bob! You caught me!

You ask if my pellets glow in the dark? Funny you should ask, as I've come up with a way to do just that! Turns out it was easier than I thought it would be. The 9 mm, 220 grain pellets I use for feral pigs, have a rather large skirt, but you can't see them under IR lighting. But the one thing that glows under IR light, is luminescent paint. Just a very small dab inside the skirt, and wallah!

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

Received my Altaros yesterday. It is everything everyone else stated it is l. Quiet and efficient. I have a 33gal 5.5 hp 7.4cfm @90 psi compressor hitting it at 95psi. It runs the shop compressor 4min on 2.5min off with the air metering screw adjustment. 2 water traps before the unit and seems to be fine for not letting water into the Altaros. I just barely got to using it and filled my 68ci pony bottle from 3000 to 4500 in 20 minutes. I hooked it to the air Venturi and let it go for an hour and managed around 25bar in that time. Had to shut it off as it was getting late and the oiless compressor is loud out in the garage. So far very happy with the purchase and with it plumbed into my basement it was cold to the touch after use. So glad I have an air source and no more pumping and now I can get to slinging some lead in the Texan.

How long did shipping take for you?  Mine shipped on 3-15-2017 and never made landfall in the US yet. Altaros has been in contact with me and I understand shipping is really out of their control but said they would reship if nothing happens by Friday.

Took what seemed like forever to make it to customs  in NY. once it cleared it was 2 days. I ordered Mine March 29th. I was going crazy waiting on mine can't imagine it should take that long.

Update I turned it up to 100psi and I did the last 50 bar pretty quick little over an hour. Checked the water trap in the Altaros not a drop. Then checked the medium pressure decasant and it's still orange! Good deal!

Just received a e-mail shipping update!.......It is in New York now.  My 88cf tank is at about 3200psi so I will give it a good workout as soon as it arrives.

Great you should have it by the weekend then. Give some feedback on how you have it all set up.

Arrived yesterday!!!My total shipping time was 31 days with a delay mid shipment.  Unit was very well packed. And arrived undamaged. I am running a 60 gallon 10.3 cfm @90 psi shop compressor. I topped off my 88cf tank "60min" from 3100 to 4500 in around 2.5 hours.

Keep in mind the first hour and a half I went from 3100-3800 at flow setting It came set at. Shop Compressor was running about 3 min and off 6min.

After adjusting the flow I was able to do the last 700 psi in about a hour. Shop Compressor was running 5 minutes20 seconds and off for 4 minutes.

Very happy. I did start to catch some moisture the last hour in the water trap on the Altaros but it was due to supply air temp from compressor heating up. I need to look into building a after cooler for my shop compressor.

I have 3 water traps and a decasant drier in front of my Altaros. (Maybe overkill)Best to put the traps away from the shop compressor so the air can have time to cool and start condensing. The first trap catches the most water of course and I bleed it every 30minutes. I also bleed the main tank drain at this time. Just a quick bleed. The second and third barely a drop in them. After 3 hours about 50% of the beads in my drier are changing color. I have not found a drop in the Altaros trap or a green bead in the medium pressure decasant. Be sure to check your decasant beads on the medium pressure side. Read the pdf instructions on the site on how to open that tube. Easy peasy.

There was few customers which asked us how to rebuild our Altaros compressor booster so they could boost pressure with different inert gas from one bottle to other. So we made video how to do it .

This set for Boostering from one bottle to another will be added on web soon.
