I fill in Fresno to 4500 (Doesn't matter the starting pressure) for I think $15.00 at Maximum Paintball. They keep re-topping it off and I leave it overnight. I get it about full.  I have only gone in a couple of times and once they said not to worry about it, the other times I paid.  I'm looking at compressors but at 3, 000 that's 200 fills and since we moved to the valley and life now sucks I don't shoot nearly as much anymore.  I am reconsidering the whole process though just because when the 30 gets here I will be using more air and it is kind of a pain in the rump to haul stuff in to be filled.

I am getting fed up with my dive shop.  The last three times I left my tank, it was for a couple days.  When I went in to pick it up it had not been filled and I had to wait.  Happened again today.  Be glad when I get my compressor and don't have to rely on the shop.

Yea this really has me rethinking my Tank purchases.  I've always had a 88 cubic foot tank, go for the biggest right?  So what happens if we get an intensifier and fill a smaller tank as required?  I am tired of being charged full price to top off a tank.  The problem with the Altoros is you have an Air compressor supplying the air?  So what if we had a straight intensifier?  Dry air in and dry air out.  HMM

I dropped my tank off yesterday morning, along with two CO2 tanks. When I showed up this morning my tank wasn't ready. Guy had to top it off. Gave me the CO2 tanks, and I just took them and put in backseat of truck and headed to work. 45 minutes later I get a call from the shop saying the CO2 tanks hadn't been filled. Told to bring them back and they'd be on the house.

But to top things off, I don't think the AirHog tank strap is mine. Trying to find a shot of it to make sure. Sigh.

My Alpha 90 is still chugging along. When I get down to 3000-3200 I just fill it up as in set it and forget it :D. Come back in a coupe hours and it's all done. I think I payed about $1400 for it from JoeB. That would cover what, 100 fills at $14 per???Not including time lost to and fro.
I have a friend in the FD that will fill me whenever I want, but having the compressor I don't have to go 6 miles over the hill to fill. All said and done  I would still lose an hour or more of "constructive" time ::).

Buncha BB guns that I don't get to shoot as much as I like. Building duck boats now that I'm "retired".

Up to 32 fills on the big AV tank and 35 on the pony bottle with the altaros. Almost a year gone by not a single issue. $649 worth of fills still did not add $15 of gas each trip for a fill. It’s paid for itself 3+ Times already.

I'm with you Ace. I got my Omega Air Charger just before Christmas 2016. To date, it has just over 20 hours or run time without a hitch. Having your own fill station is almost a must, regardless of what it is.

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

I have two close-by air sources, but they both had 'issues'. I didn't have the proper fitting for the dive shop and the paintball place is a clusterbleep for a variety of reasons. It would take me 45 minutes of standing around and then they started charging $20.00 for a fill. At any rate, I have over six hours on my AV compressor now with zero issues. Since I can shoot right outside of my garage I fill the tank to exactly what I need and then shoot tethered. Because of the convenience of shooting where my compressor is located I really don't need to worry about a regulator. When my pressure falls a little I just bump it back up.

Alan was right...getting into big bore without a compressor is difficult. That being said, everyone's shooting scenarios are different. I shoot a lot and often since I don't to go anywhere to do it. Others are more sporadic. It's a price hit for sure, but after chasing air all over the place it's money well spent.

I'm looking at adding a big bore, I have a couple tanks I fill now, but am looking for a compressor solution over the next few months, most definitely before picking up the BB.
My guy in all honesty only charges me less than what I posted, and quite a few times didn't even charge me if the compressor was already fully charged and was only topping me off say 3200 to 4500 or so.
It's been a pretty cool experience with this shop, but I know it's time to fill my own tanks especially wanting to add a big fella to the group.

Yup, it was about 12 or 13 bucks to fill my tigershark at a local fire equipment company here in Central New York (Jerome Fire, Cicero NY).  The didn't seems to care if it was empty or just a top-off.
