ATN X-Sight 4K—An opinion
« on: May 31, 2018, 05:23:37 PM »
ATN Has introduced their 4K model. Before you rush right out and buy one, make sure you read these specs VERY carefully! While the layout is different, the viewing screen is still 1080x720. This IS NOT 4K! It is not even HD! The only 4K part of this is the imager. The scope still weighs in at about a kilo. Read that as heavy! About the only thing which interests me, is the battery life, thanks to the new imager.

PS: I've heard reports of bug-ridden software. They've never sorted out the X-Sight II standard res model's software, so I'm even more skeptical.

I've had one for 2 or 3 weeks now. Just about in-operative, as shipped. They just came out with an up-graded firmware file yesterday (5/31) I've installed it, better, but still some problems with Blu toothm abd contrast. :-X

It took almost 2 full years before they got the X-Sight II working—sort of. It still has bugs, and I'd bet they won't fix them. That is what they did with the X-Sight I. I have a Proton, but I seldom use it. It isn't pig season unless you like to sweat like a pig!
