Magnetospeed V3 Chronograph and/or Listone L1000
« on: March 09, 2017, 05:10:42 AM »
I've been looking at the Listone L1000 Ballistic Chronograph, but there are no US distributors, and they won't sell me just one! I also looked at the Magnetospeed, but the only model which will chrono pellets is the V3. It sells for $380, even on Amazon. Before I lay out that kind of cash, I'd like some input from other users. And/or, if you know of a foreign distributor for the L1000 who will ship to the USA, I'd be interested in that too.

Dunka!

I'm actually looking at that specific Caldwell. I have one of the better Crony units, and I built LED lights. But even then, it is REALLY picky about placement.

I have been using the Magnetic V-3 for a year now,
after I figured out how to set the sensitivity levels, and get the spacing over the bayonet correct,
had to make several different thickness spacers, to cover all the different bbl sizes.

It will pick up steel bb's and 22 cal pellets every time, and has never failed to pick up all CF cal from 17 thru 45 cal,
plus it is also easier to set and use than my Oehler chrono, when I set up both for double checking ballistic etc.

Well worth the $$$, IMHO.

What I want to get eventually is a Labradar. I had an opportunity to play with one which belonged to a fellow club member. But neither of us could get the darn thing to work as advertised. The guys over at Hard Air Magazine have one on loan, and hopefully they're have better luck. I couldn't complain at the time, because is wasn't mine. But I guarantee if I buy one, and I have the same issues, it will go back!
