Hammer spring changes.
« on: March 08, 2017, 04:22:28 PM »
So, we all know how the new Discos have the new longer spring (16 coils).  Even longer than a 13XX spring (23 coils).

I happen to have HunterOne's 1377 to do some things to.  I pulled the spring and, let's just say Crosman has changed things again.  A new hammer spring that's more related to the original Disco hammer spring.  It has 18 coils.  It measures 1 7/8".
New Disco spring is 2 1/4" long.
The original 13XX spring is 2".

L-2-R...13XX, New Disco, New 13XX:

Just wanted to put that info out there.

The real measure isn't so much the number of turns or the uncompressed length. It is the force required to compress the spring to a specific (shorter) length. I would guess they're very close to one another.

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

Can you post the wire diameters of these springs?

TIA!    :)
