centerpoint poor replacement?
« on: December 11, 2017, 03:11:58 PM »
I bought a centerpoint scope 3x9x32 or 40 can't recall it had a lit crosshair at wally world. I know expect what you pay for but this is insane. I sent it back in because it would not hold zero, I have others that do fine for my air rifles. PCPs mostly, anyway I sent it back, and got back as a replacement for  69 dollar scope a 10 dollar at most POS made out of plastic. Crosman customer service denies any of their scopes are plastic but this one is. They refuse to follow up on the phone and just told me that I was wrong and they don't have lit crosshairs anymore and this is a equal value scope. I have about 12 of crosman scopes and have had trouble with 2 , first replacement was fine and all other scopes work ok. but this burns my rear. Is this where I put this so all will be warned or ?? let me know or move. Thanks

I suspect it is. I'm sorry for your plight. I know they sort of look like plastic, but are you sure it is plastic?

Personally, I'd just bite the bullet, and buy one of these or similar. https://www.amazon.com/UTG-3-12X44-Compact-36-color-Mil-dot/dp/B004KRA4YG/ref=sr_1_3?s=sports-and-fitness&ie=UTF8&qid=1513038137&sr=1-3&keywords=UTG+scope

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

Yep!! It was so bad I cut it open to see. seems to be some sort of pvc tube and pcs/focus/turret caps even softer then tube, tube and obj bell were firm enough but plastic is plastic. I will bite it and buy a good/better one . It just erks me beyond belief. And the poor service ladies are told they don't make a plastic scope. I have Horton 11 dollar clearance scopes that are better, and are alloy. Not the first time crosman has made errors , live and learn. BUT a warning to look out to the members.
