Wow, fantastic shot with a springer.  Looks like you are zero'd way out there for a gun shooting under 800fps...that clearly demonstrates you have confidence in your abilities.  Way to go!

He's adjusting his crosshairs for the range the rangefinder (in the scope?) is giving. Some shooters prefer to adjust clicks rather than use mildots or other methods of holdover estimation, and an electronic scope like this one makes that method easier than usual. So putting the crosshairs at any given distance becomes more a matter of learning your scope software.

Not taking anything away from that shot though! Heck of a shot with a spring piston rifle, even one as smooth-shooting as that. Nice work on the squirrel. Most of my grey squirrel shots are no more than about 15 metres (around 16.4 yards), but I almost never shoot them with any sort of rest, just standing, so that's the challenge for me. Learning to hold steady. Popped this guy yesterday from about 13 metres from our kitchen window as he hesitated next to my garlic bed, facing me. Right between the eyes, which did something I'd not seen before - rotated both his eyes back in their sockets. The pellet was an 18gr JSB going at around 720fps, so just over 20fpe. It continued on through the body and stopped his heart so this 2lb squirrel just flopped over sideways and moved no more. More often I use a little PCP carbine delivering just over 10fpe as that's more than enough power for around my yard, but the QB78D is just a bit more precise and this guy was being jumpy so I grabbed that instead.

No sir, the X-Sight has what is called the "Smart Shooting Solution" which is a built in ballistics calculator.  It isn't perfect but it can get the job done.  Once everything is set up you just input the range and the calculator moves the reticle for you.  I would have never tried that shot unless I had a bench and a toe bag and a ballistics calculator handy.

Incidentally, that Diana was tuned by "John in Pa".  He did a superb job.

Travis,

Was that the 5-20 version?  What power were you shooting?  That was a very clear picture.  Nice shot.

I'm sorry it took so long to reply to this (assuming you mean me).  That is the 3x14 model.  I don't remember what I had it set at but I expect it was zoomed to 14 power.

I have ended up with two of the X-Sight IIs. One was a gift which didn't work because the memory slot connection was damaged which I fixed. The 5x20 still works passible, and the 3x14 has the proverbial IR filter sticking issue, even though I've looked at that problem three times! Poor design in my opinion. But to get to the point..., using the ballistic calculator is a waste of time. I have never successfully used it.
