New Airgun Club Anyone?
« on: December 03, 2016, 02:25:51 AM »
I'll make it short.

I'm look'in to start a air gun club a little east of Sacramento, CA. Near Georgetown. Interested?

Looking for old guys (18-80) that would get together and shoot and swap stories. Not necessarily just air guns. Anything! Fishing, Hunting, Autos, Road Bikes, Dirt Bikes, Military days, but primarily a air gun club.

I  possibly have access to a place that membership can create a small range. (many hurtles) I also have a small outdoor retail business. Club members get comradery, retail discounts and lots of shoot'in fun!

Will elaborate more depending on interest.

Thanks for looking.

I live in Benicia which would be a bit of a haul, but an occasional road trip to shoot airguns and hangout  would be cool. I'm pretty frustrated living on the edge of some huge open spaces all closed to shooting due to private land or just plain closed to the public. The range across the Sacramento has been closed for over a year, and for the near future.

I guess I have to limit my shooting to back yard with small bore and quiet airguns.

When I was a kid I'd just walk down the road to the woods and happily hunt and plink all weekend long.

Guess I need to make friends with some ranchers or plan some trips to the desert,

Not Sure where Georgetown is but I'm in.  I live an hour south of Sacramento.  Between jobs right now but that will change.

O.K.  I see just north of Placerville.  I used to go down the 193 to put in on the Southfork of the American river.  Every weekend!!

I'm just outside Placerville and Co-Match director of the Sacramento / IONE FT club.
We are always looking for venues IN THE WOODS and would indeed entertain being involved with yours or you with our club and facilities if such a venue in Georgetown were to come too pass ?

April to November we already have 3 active clubs in Nor Cal doing monthly Shoots / Matches.
A 4th ... well away from the bulk of our participants living area would be Welcome, tho with so much already in place such a remote venue likely to be / take some serious effort on your part in developing.

Strictly a suggestion here ....
It would be in your best interest to visit a preexisting Air Gun venue and meet the folks that make up the current ranks of the Nor Cal shooting scene.   That done and some networking threw these new found connections would make the job/task of getting the word out of a Foothill Air Gun club a whole lot more productive !!
