"Topic Reply" emails....
« on: August 10, 2016, 05:59:58 PM »
When I get my "Topic Reply" emails notifying me that a watched topic has gotten a reply I am unable to go right to the reply using the link contained within the email.
For some reason the link is getting "truncated".

Link should look like this:
http://airgunguild.com/wicked-air-rifles-(war)/first-go-at-100yds-with-my-flex-25/new/?topicseen#new

However within the email it looks like below
http://airgunguild.com/wicked-air-rifles-  with "(war)/first-go-at-100yds-with-my-flex-25/new/?topicseen#new" at the end but not contained within the hypertext

The above is an example but it's happened 2 times today

What email client are you using? If on a browser, which one, and version? Operating system?

Been happening to me too.
Win 7, Google Chrome and whatever ATT has for interwebs.. :(
I just copy, then search Google for it and it does what it used to do. PITA, having to do all that instead of one click. ;D
Buncha BB guns that I don't get to shoot as much as I like.

Looks like the url fails at the open parentheses. They most likely see parentheses in url as illegal though the html specs say it's ok.  Their developers are using Regex to break the URL at the (. Email clients as a whole are often 15 years behind in technology. Just look at an html email and you'll see the techniques I used in 2000 to build websites.

Don't have a fix for you. Sorry!

I have had this same issue with my web site links. And as Steve said, it is an issue with the browser, not the link per se.

I take note, that some sites use the great and less symbols (< and >) rather than parentheses for this reason. Or the put a space on each end of the URL.

I'm running Mac iOS Sierra (Beta), and I haven't noticed any issues related to the above.
