The smallest I personally know of is, .31 caliber. And you'll find out, casting small shot isn't easy! There is another way. Number 3 shot is .250 in diameter. It isn't popular, but most on-line dealers carry it. The only issue is, it costs as much to ship it, as it costs. But a 25 pound bag should last a long time.

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

I went with an outfit from Essex England and they are making me a custom size of .255 out of brass. It is just a little over $50 including shipping. It is a slngle cavity mold with sprue cutting pliers included.

I got the mould and cast a few of the round balls and it is tricky to get a good bullet.I had to turn the heat up and hold the mold right up against the pour spout or it would seal off the channel down to the round part of the mould and make a tiny speck of a ball. But I got a few good ones and they cycled alright in my Hatsan.I will try them for accuracy later.

I have to ask: why a round ball?  I know from my black powder days round balls were not as accurate as the maxi balls, particularly out to 100 yards.
